A simple setting of the classic American spiritual. This piece works equally well as a solo song or for as a unison anthem. Down in the River is believed to be one of America's oldest melodies, stemming from a lost Native American chant. It has become popularized throughout many segments of American life, most recently by its inclusion in the film "O brother, where art thou?"

Download includes high voice and low voice transpositions, and you may make as many copies as necessary for your singers.
